dbHunterNY
What do you guys/gals think about Mountain Mike's Bone Collector Record Keeper Euro mount kit? The nose of the skull on my '09 OK ML buck got damaged so I can't use it.
RTF
If your in a pinch and need one, then I say go for it. I have seen Mountain Mikes euro kit. It's about as close as you will get in realism.

dbHunterNY
I'm not quite sure how it happened. I was boiling it for a while. I took it out and noticed a chunk of meat hanging off the nose so I shook it by the antlers a little and the meat somehow fell off taking pieces of the nose bone with it. Must have cracked putting in the pot I guess. So yea I'm think the Bone Collector euro kit is the best alternative. It's a little work, but nothing too bad. I was just curious if anyone's used it before.
Kansaskid
Just finished a nice 5x5 I will get pics up when I get a chance. The skull was cracked and needed superglue, but other than that good quality and realism.

Tom2008
Do not boil the water! That is the reason why skulls can full apart. Its not always going to happen, but it does happen because of it. Simmer the water don't boil.
dbHunterNY
I decided to give the Mountain Mike's Bone Collector Kit a go. I'm still working on it at the moment. I'll post some pictures of it when I'm done with the skull part of it.
TN Bucknasty
I let my heads simmer and I disassemble the skulls on purpose because it makes them so much easier to clean. The two nasal bones slip right out of the skull like puzzle pieces and the two plates that cover the top of the sinus cavity can also very easily be removed and put back. dbHunterNY
Thanks for the insight everybody. I'm sure it won't be my last euro mount. I think I've got to make some changes to how I do the next one. I'm in the finishing stages of things now with this kit, then it's going to get touched up with some paint. I've worked on it 15 minutes here and 15 minutes there so it's taking longer than it normally would.
