Bowtech_archer07
Thank you for your inputs everyone! I went to our local Big R today and found some that are called Golden Retriever boots. They not only have a steel toe, they have a steel plate that comes up and covers the top of your foot as well. The stitching seems to look tough and be able to hold up well and put up with everything I put my boots through. They were a little pricey at $110, but if they hold together it will be well worth it. They are a comfortable boot, and like I said they are have some serious protection. Thanks again everyone, and here is a pic of them http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/met-guard-steel-toe-eh-boots-by-golden-retriever.aspx?a=477252 They look kinda goofy, but as long as they are comfortable and keep my feet protected, that's all that matters. Mooresville Rocket
http://workingperson.com/products/22_98/1/Metatarsal_and_Toe_Guards.html That is called a Metatarsal guard, its only necessary if you work someplace where you carry heavy loads - say with a crane - where you need to protect the small bones on the top of your foot. It is not any good for a walking shoe or a shoe that just needs to protect your toes.

Those things do look goofy, but if you work in that kind of environment, then you need them. I personally hate steel toed boots, but some places they are necessary. Bowtech_archer07
I work on a farm doing lots of different things and there have been times when I have been carrying a engine head or a chunk of wood or other things when I have been very glad I had my steel toed boots and there has been times that things have come very close to dropping above the steel toe and landing directly on top of my foot. I'm going to try them out for a little while and I may end up returning them, but so far they seem pretty comfortable.
