HUNTINGMAN
I was sitting im my recliner playing my PS3 last night when all of a sudden the thing just shut itself off.I tried turning the power back on and nothing would happen,it would beep and then go right back off.I thought that it had just overheated so I unplugged it and let it rest for the day and tried it again this afternoon.Same thing happened,I called the Plastation consumer help and they walked me through it and said that the problem was a software issue and the machine was fried.:bang:This didnt settle to good with me for I gave 600$ for this thing not even to years ago and they dont make them with the options mine has anymore.:bang:They told me I had two options and both would cost me money,I could sent mine in and get a rebuilt one like it for 180$ after shipping and everything or I could get a new slim model and it would be 148$ after shipping.Mine has 80 gig of memeory and the new one has 160gig but dosent play PS2 games and has no memory card slots and has only two usb ports instead of the 4 my old one has.I opted for a new slim model but still arent sure I made the right choice,I am getting twice the memory but am loseing alot to.I guess I will wait and see what its like.Has anyone else had issues with there PS3? a couple of guys I work with had ones like mine and they fried also. buckee
Some companies just don't stand behind their products like they should. It's a real shame.
MCH
Same thing happened with my son's XBox 360. The blinking lights of death or something like that.
The_Kat
I bought a 360 when they first came out.....I had one of the ones that burned lines in the games they had in them. They were willing to replace the unit, but I caught wind of all the troubles they had been having and just got my money refunded. I guess my old PS2 works well enough.
