The_Kat
So I have this bad tooth that needs fixed and I've been putting off a trip to the dentist. Well I bit down the wrong way on something about an hour ago and you wanna talk about the worst pain I've ever felt in my life!!!! I took 2 500MG loratabs and it still hurts. It is letting up a little finally, but still hurts like crazy. I'm gonna beg a dentist to see me tomorrow morning cause this is unlike anything I've felt before! Anyone got any tips for toothaches? I have tried painkillers, orajel, brushing my teeth, mouthwash, heat pack.......nothing but the painkillers has helped even a tiny bit. I'm tempted to go to the ER if it doesn't let up soon...... ruttinbuc
Sounds like a pretty bad abscess, Kyle. Nothing much you can do but get to a dentist to relieve the pressure on the nerve. Ibuprofen is probably the best for tooth pain.
camoman1
Look up a Clove Oil Compress on google. It may help for a bit.
HUNTINGMAN
Try a big bottle of Kentucky bourbon, guarentee to releive the pain.
Doe-ee
Oooh that really is awful pain. Had the same thing a couple years back and while waiting to get to the dentist he suggested not taking in anything hot or cold (no kidding) and not to use mouthwash or brush the tooth. I did get in for a quick shot of novacaine and a prescription for anti-biotics, between his appointments and that really helped to settle it down until my appointment a few days later. Hope you're feeling better real quick.
arrow32
Man I had a tooth that did that. I put it off clear threw hunt season when I had it. That was one of the worse pains I've ever felt. Cold water helped mine don't know why but it did. Root canal? Good luck hope your able to get it taken care of. Turkeygirl
Couple years back I had a filling that cracked...oh my gosh, that was the worst pain ever. Dentist couldn't see more till like 2 days later! Said I could take 4 ibuprofen though at a time...I think weh ave 200mg so I was on 4 of those...that's about the only thing that helped...Anything hot, cold or whatever set off the worst pain.... Hope you can get in and see someone very soon! Now if there is a next time, you won't wait this long, lol! Poor kitty Kat;-)
redkneck
Nothing worse than a toothache or earache. You need to go to the doc, get an infection and you'll sure enough be hurtin.
The_Kat
Just got back from the dentist and had two teeth extracted. I'm loaded up on painkillers and flying high at the moment. Hope I'm healed in time for Christmas dinner!

Shaun_300
Well at least they're causing you no more pain now, hopefully they heal up quick and you can still pig out Christmas dinner. I had one of my wisdom teeth abcess on me, was too stubborn to go to the dentist and lived through a week or two of really bad pain. Man that was stupid, now I've learned to know a little better now, if that ever happened again I think I'd go to the dentist this time and get it taken care of. The_Kat
Ruth that just shot me with 5 shots of something that made me have a cold sweat and shake. Next thing I know I woke up to hearing your all done, bite down on this swab. They couldn't do a regular extraction and had to do a surgical procedure....whatever that means. I have some dissolvable stitches and 10 mg hydrocodone/500 apap ( tylenol ) and 7.5 mg hydrocodone/200mg ibprofen so I can alternate the inflamation med and not get to much tylenol, but can keep a steady flow of loratab. Also have to finish a ten day cycle of Amoxicillin. I'm still bleeding, but it's letting up some and I just feel hungover. It sure beats the pain I was in lastnight.
