Gator
It must really upset the apple cart when it snows in Okieland, no? Either way you have to deal with it. Remember, car sliding to the right turn wheel left and vice verses.... Most of the blizzard of 09 here is all washing away. We had a day of rain. So much for the snow camo.... Biggest problem is it rained Wed night, then the temps dropped Thursday, all that turned to ice, then piled on 10-14 inches of snow. I live in a rural area, I could have gotten out, but would have torn something up. Oh yeah, any self respectin southerner ever driven on wet clay knows to turn into a skid, that's common sense
Jeramie
That is the truth.. Freezing rain for hours before, turned into sleet, and then dumped on the snow. Makes for slick roadways.

You would be surprised at how many northerners don't know how to drive in it. Guess there are those with no sense at all, let alone common.:clown:
The_Kat
Oklahoma is never equipped to handle a blizzard, but how often do they occur?
ruttinbuc
We get snow here, but not many all out blizzards. The weather people must have stock in groceries, shovels, rock salt and snow blowers. Every time there is a flake in the air they make it sound like the storm of the century is on the way, LOL... We had big blizzards in 93 and 96 that shut the east coast down for a few days. Take heart that before you know it spring will be here. Here is a link to what was the storm of the century: http://www.hulu.com/watch/104087/national-geographic-specials-storm-of-the-century
