A 2009 Christmas Story (mine)

Many of you know the struggles I have been through, health-wise in the past 2 1/2 years, and with that of course came the financial struggles as well. Many forum members on here raised some money for me last year and if it wasn't for you all I would be in a worse place than I am now financially.your loving kindness and generosity, Diana and I are truly humbled, thankful and grateful.

This summer my computer started acting up, because it was just getting too dang full of stuff, I have collected over the years, and buying a new one was out of the question. Then I got that Koobface virus in my PC from facebook, which pretty much did in what was left of my PC. I wasn't looking forward to the day, I had to say goodbye to you all, for who knows how long.:(

Then of course there is my old 89 Dodge Dakota, that has certainly seen better days, but has been slowly dieing on me, one thing at a time.:(

Diana and I have been praying earnestly for God's helping hand, and it was getting hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Computer:

My very good friend Wilf came over one day, and offered to rebuild my computer for me, with parts and pieces of other computers he has worked on in the past. He did it all for free and I know he needs financial help just as bad as we do. Loving kindness is a wonderful thing and I want to praise the Lord for the Love people show others, because he is the author of love.. I'm sitting here with a nice computer now, and I am truly humbled by it. Thank you Wilf

The Truck:

A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting in my old truck, in front of the place my wife works, waiting to pick her up after work, like I've done for the last 16 years. A couple came out of the store, who I know to see, because they both work there too, but my wife and I are not good friends with them or anything. I waved to them as they passed by the truck, like I always do. They got across to the parking lot, stopped, talked a bit, and turned around and came strolling over to my truck.

He said, "hey Steve, are you thinking of getting a newer vehicle soon?"

I laughed and said " Oh yeah, I wish. I'm still waiting to win the lottery or something...LOL"

He said, "Well, I have a 1999 Ford Explorer sitting oin my yard, with 119,000 km on it. It needs some work, but are you interested?"

I said, "Well, I suppose I could use something like that to haul my painting gear in, but how much are you asking for it, just out of curiosity?"

He said, " For you, nothing, and since it does need some work done to it, we will pay for that too."

I was speechless. I mean, what do you say when someone you just know to see, makes you an offer like this. My jaw dropped, and all they did was smile.

Well, needless to say, we now have a newer vehicle, that is in the shop getting fixed up right now, but there were a few major things wrong with it. It had been leaking water into the oil, somewhere, which caused a few issues, like cracked heads, etc. The bill to fix it has gone up to $3,700.

Diana and I are in the process of getting a loan of course to get this vehicle on the road (and pay a few bills off), but this couple, insist, or should I say demand to pay the full tab.

I asked them why they are being so wonderfully kind, and all they keep saying is they want me to have the vehicle, but they don't want it to be a burden to me.

I am in awe. I sit here and shake my head, and tear up, every time I think about it.

God does answer prayers, and at times really humbles you in the process.

Merry Christmas everyone.

God does supply, partially so that people can hear stories like this told.

I hope this year is a lot better for you guys. We've had a really rough year, losing my Sister, so I for one will be glad to give this year a good swift kick in the rear at 11:59:59 on December 31st!

Just remember to pay it forward and do something nice for someone else--volunteer time, etc.

Steve, as long as you are faithful to give give God the credit for the wonderful things he does in your life, He will continue to bless you, & I pray for God to bless the ones who blessed you as well.

On another thought, when you think how happy you are to be blessed by this other family, think how much MORE they will be blessed one day when they stand in front of Jesus & hear "well done good & faithful servant"!!

James 5:16 (New International Version)

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Why are we so surprised when God answers out prayers? He LOVES us. All we need to do is ask...........................
