tedicast
I just tried mounting my scope an my .223 Encore barrel. I'm using Leupold Quick Release base, and High Quick Release Rings. The problem is the rings aren't high enough for my Simmons Pro 50, 6x18x50 scope. The high rings are .900", the base mic'ed at .245". That works out to 1.145". Leupold doesn't make a higher QR ring. Can someone tell me of another ring/base combo that will work for me? Thanks in advance guys.
tedicast
Re: Encore Scope mount question I just found in Bass Pro, a listing for Leupold Dual Dovetail, Extra High rings....will switching to a dual dovetail base, ans the x-high rings give me enough clearance? AJ
Re: Encore Scope mount question You can get a matte finish QR ring in Super High. Its Leupold part number 51715. They are 1" vs the .9" of the High mount. You can also use the dual dovetail or the standard type rings. You will probably need a Super High set of rings. This is the main reason I dislike 50mm scopes. Here is the info: Standard rings (dovetail front, windage adj rear) 49907 - matte finish 49906 - gloss Dual Dovetail 49919 - matte finish
tedicast
Re: Encore Scope mount question Thanks AJ. I found them ay MidSouth Shooters Supply and ordered them. I think the extra .100" should do it for me. Thanks for taking the time to look up the part numbers. I appreciate it.
