Tony
looks like im off to Montana for a 2010 elk/ mule deer hunt. i will be hunting with Timber Creek Lodge. date is sept 11th through the 16th. location is Big Timber, Montana which is about 40 miles north of Yellowstone, somewhere near the Crazy Mountains. im going with the guarenteed outfitter license this time. i was going to do a mule deer /antelope hunt, but its only a few extra bucks for the elk/mulie hunt. i figured what the heck its time for me to get into this elk hunting stuff. i pretty excited about this and it should be an awesome time. traprdave
Good luck Tony. Have hunted that area myself. Make sure you buy a wolf tag and take one of those nasty things home with you!!
joeaveragehunter
I must warn you... you just blew it. Once you go on that hunt, those bugles will haunt you in your sleep for years. For all the times you were sitting in your tree stand and were thinking the big buck is just over the the next hill, now you get to go find out except the head gear will make your knees weak. Don't get scared when a bull lets out a monster bugle close to you and the hair on your...neck stands straight up. Ga luck!
Canuck2
Tony, you'll have a blast. The rut should be on and the bugling will make you weak in the knees - but I imagine you planned it that way. I have relatives in a small town not far north of Big Timber and they hunt the Crazys with great success. Pictures, we want lots of pictures.
DocMort
good luck, wish I could get off work to hunt the rut.
