I.K.C.
Anyone have any ideas about late season rattling? Sounds crazy I know.
Straight Shooter
Nothing aggressive, I'd do some tickling to semi-aggressive just to get the attention of anything close.
joeaveragehunter
Like he said. It works, but if you strike up a battle royal, you probably won't get any fans.
Tony
depends on what your looking for. a quite a few years ago i was desperate to get a deer in the freezer. i only had 3 days of late season muzzleloader left. i was in the stand and i needed to make something happen, so at first i rattled soft, but after 30 mins and nothing, i cut loose on them. about 10 min later i spotted a nice fat 6 point coming in. he came into 40 yards and i dropped the hammer on him. that was jan 7th. if your looking for meat, rattling might bring in a small buck. but i would think a larger buck probably wouldnt come to horns this late in the season. but who knows a monster might come running in, it just depends on his mood.
