muggs
Okay, can we skip all the SEC slurping on here from now on? What are they like 5-4 or something, with the only thing putting them above .500 being an OT win against East Carolina from Conference USA? That ECU kicker had three chances to win it in regulation even. Where's all that speed? Florida and Bama, very impressive teams. LSU, pretty decent, would probably finish 3rd in the Big Ten too. Outside of that, pretty terrible (and this is something I pointed out on here a few weeks ago mind you). Let me guess, Rhine or Gator is going to say that they're losing because they're banged up after playing that tough SEC schedule. Reality check boys. Perception is rarely the reality. Guest TennesseeTurkey
fact is the SEC ALWAYS has 2 or 3 teams in the race for the natl championship.... we dont need to convince you were the best.... we already know it and so does everybody who plays them.... Guest TennesseeTurkey
besides those 4 losses we have come from teams closer to the top or on top of their conference.... our losses have been from the lower parts of our conference.... in terms of best all around conference you know were the best..... look at Tennessee's loss.... to VT, who should have won their conference, UT was 7-5! ECU won their conference and lost to a 7-5 sec team.... and you HAVE to know there is a HUGE difference in the CUSA and the ACC... craig mack
As much as I hate to say it the SEC is a way better conference than the Big 10. I have been telling you this for a few years Muggs. I was the one who told you speed kills. You laughed of course and started talking about all the fast ohio guys. See when I talk about fast, I'm talking about team speed not skilled position players. Their whole game is faster than anything in the Big 11. Thats why they are in the running for NC's every year. I know your gonna come back and say our record is better against them blah blah blah. But they are way more consistant at getting to the Championship and winning. The Big 10 is seriously lacking as a conference and yes I know that my team is a big part of that. We have no conference championship game, which clearly shows how far behind the Big 10 is from the rest of the "big" conferences. Which hurts recruiting. They need to tell Notre Dame to either join us or were done playing you!!!! Did you watch the Under Armour High School All Star game? Like half the kids in it are going to Florida!!!! The rest were going to Auburn and Bama. I only noticed 2 that were going to the Big 10, Golston to MSU and Gardner to U of M. There were a few others that were considering the Big 10 but were'nt commited yet. I'm sure I may have missed a couple but the play makers in that game all seemed to be headed to the SEC. And its been that way for a few years now. I hate to have to stick up for the SEC because I'm a Big ten fan (minus Ohio St). But it is what it is and I dont see how you can deny it. muggs
5-4 this year, 1-1 vs. the Big Ten with their win being a 3 point win vs. Northwestern a below-average Big Ten program who's QB threw 5 picks... Other wins include an OT win against East Carolina who's kicker missed 3 FGs, and an over-matched Cincy team. The fact they've two teams competing for a title is because ESPN slurps them. Time will tell, you're all just too weak to see this for yourself.
muggs
"BCS schools have produced the most NFL draft picks in recent years, and USC easily leads the pack, having had 37 players drafted between 2006-2009. Second best: Ohio State with 26 in the same time period. LSU was third with 24." Speed kills Craigy...guess all those NFL teams must just love drafting those slow guys from OSU and USC. It's a very solid conference. It's just not the super duper conference people have been trying to make it because it's been the flavor of ESPN. The conference as a whole has had some very nice years of late. Your Gator's are a force, Bama is a great team. But the conference as a whole is not so far above the Big 12 and the Big Ten. That's just a fact. I picked a lot of them because they had some gimme matchups, East Carolina, Northwestern, Cincy. And they're still 5-4...with those three wins. Ugh. And if you ask ESPN, there's only two teams in all of major league baseball, the Yankees and the Red Sox. ESPN is a group of losers, and they're controlling your thought process...that's scary isn't it?
ultratec1
Man I love these kinda threads!!!! LOL. I have heard it time and time again how great the SEC is and dont get me wrong, Alabama, Florida and LSU are power house teams.....but the big ten has the teams to make you go home and cry. Look at the Iowa, Penn st and Ohio st games. They all played teams that had "faster" stronger offense or a west coast team that was going to out throw them and make their head spin. What happened there?? 3 wins from the big ten. 1 loss and that was Northwestern who lost to Auburn in OT. Say what you want but the big ten has one of the toughest schedules there is. muggs
Say what you want but the big ten has one of the toughest schedules there is. With what the conference is returning talent wise, it's going to be a challenging year for OSU. They should be a force, but going undefeated in the Big Ten won't be easy next season.
