Dakota
The UHV (Ultimate Hunting Vehicle)--my suburban that Make-A-Wish souped up for me in 2006--is dead. I had some shotty repair work done on it a year or so back and have put thousands of dollars I really don't have into a vehicle I bought as a red rust bucket for $995. Most of the cylinders are shot and the guys at the local Ford Service Center have said that while they can fix it for a couple of thousand dollars it'll just break down again in another six months and so on and so forth. It's just not worth it I'm afraid. I don't know what I'm going to do. The Ford guys have offered me a $2000 credit on anything on their lots and I've got my eye on a $5700 2000 Ford Explorer with 130,000 miles on it. A payment plan will work out to about $100 a month but add on about $350 for school, $100 for insurance, student loans and an outstandingly tall 2009 taxidermy bill (turkey, antelope, pheasant) that's a lot for one month! On the brightside, I was blessed with picking up a bunch of hours (9-5s and 11-7s) this week so that will help out a lot. I'm afraid an era has come to an end though with my suburban. Long live the beast. Dakota Edited January 5, 2010 by Dakota
Prairiepredator
Sorry to hear about that, Dakota. Sounds like it was a pretty sweet hunting vehicle. I hope you will find a vehicle you like, with a good price!

Shaun_300
Man that sucks Dakota, too bad you live so far away I could get you a good used engine and put it in for nothing! Or do a rebuild on yours. Whatever you do, do NOT buy an Explorer! Especially with that kind of mileage on it. It'll be just another money pit. Adjam5
I hope you find a replacement vehicle soon. Eventually old vehicles become money pits and need to go to sleep. That is also a nice gesture that the Ford folks have made you.
