Are You...???

A. Are you the type of person that always looks ahead; don't really care about the past, never like to reminisce or get nostalgic?

B. Do you like to look back through old pictures, videos, sit around the table and talk about old times, weigh the merits of history from time to time?

C. Do you predominantly live in the past, wax nostalgic all the time, feel heartfelt pangs about past scenarios, seemingly would love to go back in time and do it all over again?

Of the 3, which would describe you best?

Do you think it has anything to do with age?

Do you think it as anything to do with your genetic code?

Do you think it's a product of your surroundings?

Some deep thoughts there this morn p dog.

A. I do like to look or at least try to look forward, but do not forget the past especially if it has had me in a situation that has had me get burned.

B. Yep, you bet I like to look at old pics and reminisce. Don't typically talk so much about the past though.

C. Not so much.

Probably A.

Maybe so, probably so.

Ummm, don't know, suppose it could.

Probably somewhat due to how you are conditioned by how life treats you.

I think the past has shaped my future so I am going with A. I like to look at the past and know where I came from but also know that I have the power to shape my own future.

Age- I don't know I am only 24 so it depends.

Genetics- Could be mom says I act like my dad

Surroundings- Again I don't know.

I always look ahead to tomorrow, but do like to reminisce.

B. Do you like to look back through old pictures, videos, sit around the table and talk about old times, weigh the merits of history from time to time?

Yes, I was doing that yesterday.

C. Do you predominantly live in the past, wax nostalgic all the time, feel heartfelt pangs about past scenarios, seemingly would love to go back in time and do it all over again?

I don't live in the past but there are some things that I wish I could go back and do differently.

Of the 3, which would describe you best? B.

Do you think it has anything to do with age? I think so, didn't do so much when I was in my late teens or early 20's.

Do you think it as anything to do with your genetic code? Na.

Do you think it's a product of your surroundings? Sometimes it could be.

I do try to look ahead, and always try to have hope and faith for the future

B. Do you like to look back through old pictures, videos, sit around the table and talk about old times, weigh the merits of history from time to time?

I do, but the old times weren't always the best of times. And yes, weighing the merits of history is very important IMHO.

C. Do you predominantly live in the past, wax nostalgic all the time, feel heartfelt pangs about past scenarios, seemingly would love to go back in time and do it all over again?

I do feel guilty for many things I've done in the past, but since I know I can't go back and change them, I put my faith in God for his forgiveness and grace to plod forward.

When I start thinking about wishing I could go back and change things, then I wonder where I'd be today, it can lead to depression. I wouldn't change being with the one I'm with (Diana) for nothing.

Of the 3, which would describe you best? I'd have to say a little of all 3 to be honest.

Do you think it has anything to do with age? Age does play a role, I think.

Do you think it as anything to do with your genetic code? I really don't think so, but I'm no genius either

Do you think it's a product of your surroundings? Yes, at least 50% worth. JMHO

very interesting thread here Chris. Here is my 2 cents.

A. Are you the type of person that always looks ahead; don't really care about the past, never like to reminisce or get nostalgic?

We as people have the ability to look ahead, thats what we live for, and thats why we are always creating goals to achieve...we are usually always striving to reach some level of happiness to live the dreams we want to live. Its kind of like the question "where do you see yourself in 10 years?". I don't know at all where i'll be or if i'll even by alive, but i know where i want to be.

B. Do you like to look back through old pictures, videos, sit around the table and talk about old times, weigh the merits of history from time to time?

Absolutely - life is about making memories...even if you have nothing in terms of tangible things in life such as a house, car, degree, etc. you will always have memories, and the memories you look back on are usually the best ones...I love looking back on old times, its the foundation of your life.

C. Do you predominantly live in the past, wax nostalgic all the time, feel heartfelt pangs about past scenarios, seemingly would love to go back in time and do it all over again?

Once in a while, i tell myself that if i could do it all over again, i wouldn't do this or that, but thats part of living and learning...but then again, you also think that if you went back and did it all over again, where would you be now? would you be in better or worse shape? would you have the loved ones you have now? Thats usually when i stop and realize that i am pretty darn happy with where i am at, what i have done, and who is in my life...

Of the 3, which would describe you best?

I would say that i am a combination of both A and B.

Do you think it has anything to do with age?

Absolutely...the older you get, the more you tend to appreciate life and the things/people around you. As a kid or young adult, everything is usually there, and you have grown up with these things/people around you your whole life...as an adult, things change, responsibility grows, and you are the one in charge.

Do you think it as anything to do with your genetic code?

i think it has to do with how you are brought up, not your genetic background.

Do you think it's a product of your surroundings?

absolutely

I couldnt pick just one. I'm pretty optimistic, always looking forward to something better, but have a deep appreciation for where I've been, and yeah, who doesn't reminisce a bit from time to time, remembering better times, or like Steve pointed out, wish you could go back and do a few things differently.

This is one of them deep posts, what ever happened to the "Inny or Outy" threads? :clown:

Personality profiling huh Chris?

I am a "B"

I think it has a lot to do with age and life experiences.

Good times always wish to be repeated and bad times to learn from.

I have no idea about how a genetic code affects( or is it effects, gotta be careful this post will be graded:p) people.

If everyone around you is always talking"remember when" you are bound to do it also.

All of the above...

Nah.

I don't know. Maybe it's the season. Guess I'm dealing with a little depression. Holidays are over, 99% of the big house project is over, most of hunting season is done, can't landscape until God knows when, no results on the 6 month check up yet.....

Been waking up at night out of a stone dead sleep around 3:30, staring at the ceiling sometimes wondering "is this it? Is this life from now on? What else does it have to offer....Why am I here?" Been dealing with mild panic attacks lately too....

Nothing to worry about I guess...

Sounds like one of those mid-life crisis things. Maybe you need to buy yourself a new toy. Perhaps a Corvette or something like that. icon10.gif

All of the above at times....

I know just what you are saying.

I find myself looking back at better days too much.

Looking ahead does not look very promising. Makes me nervous really.

It is both an age thing and a product of my surroundings.

I can relate as I ask the same questions wondering how I ended up back in a hole I worked so hard to get out of. It is depressing.

Mostly looking to the future as life is too busy to spend much time dwelling on the past. I do on rare occasions take some time to reminisce about past happenings and time spent with family and friends. The reminiscing part is a product of increased age and the experiences one has had. There are people who, unfortunately, had a terrible life and they tend to shout out old memories. If living in the past is all you have, then let's hope it was a pleasant life. I will say that with the start of the new decade, I wonder if I will see the end of it. If family history holds true, I will not and the quality of life is continually being hampered by a deteriorating back/spine. Adapt and move on is my motto and when the time comes I hope someone in the family has the energy to carry my ashes to the top of a mountain and spread them around.
