Kinda curious if I got the shaft.....purchased 1/2 cow....$536.00 for hang weight....which is about 1.02 a pound....and $155.00 processed, I had them cut me the 1 inch steaks instead of 3/4 inch, and I kept all the ribs, soup bones....the works............Im looking at about 200 pounds of beef total....just wondering if I got took, as it was one of those wife co worker deals......al

I dunno Al, i think you did alright....On average a half a beef will run you right aroun the $480 - $550 mark hanging weight...so depending on how much your half weighed, i'd say you got fair market value...if you are really worried, i can call the old man and shoot him some numbers and he'll really let me know if you got a good deal or if you got had....

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.......Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeef.....

Al, I processed a lot of beef in our grocery store & never saw a half of beef hanging that weighed close to 500 pounds. hanging western beef was more of about 350 pound average......i was just trying to figure how a 500 pound hanging half only yielded 200 pounds, especially when you kept almost everything?? something doesnt add up.
