I'm debating....

As I wait to hear back from the hospital, which is getting to be boring news at this point...about whether to get the regular flu shot...I know in clinical we had to, or else wear a mask when around the patients.

Usually just got it at school but obviously since I'm a free woman, lol, I'll probably have to call the Dr's office and ask.

There's also a free swine flu clinic on Wednesday, but I'm kind of leaning towards not bothering with that. I've made it this long, made it the whole summer. Haven't actually heard about any cases lately. Not too mention the shot would be pointless if it mutates into another form. My mom also heard that at this point, with so many people getting the vaccines, you don't really need to worry about getting it..I guess herd immunity so to speak.

Anyway contemplating whether to call and get the regular flu shot. Haven't even heard anything about the regular flu since the swine flu thing got going....

I received both regular and H1N1(swine flu)shots. The main reason I did get both was because of my 18 month old daughter Ellie. Being that you will be working at a hospital at some point you may want to consider getting at least the regular flu shot. Alot of hospitals around here made it mandatory for all employees to get the H1N1 vaccine.

Ruth you should get the Flu shots because your going to work in the hospital around sick people. I got mine because i clean the doctor offices at night and i didn't want to take the chance of contacting anything.

My wife is a labor and delivery nurse and has never got a regular flu shot. She did get an H1N1 shot this year.

I work in a health department and I've never had a regular flu shot and don't plan on getting one. I did get the H1N1 shot though.

Our 20 month old got the first dose of the H1N1 shot, but has yet to get the second and we may not get the second for him.
