turningcustomcalls
Let me first of all say, that I love the bone collector guys. I liked them before they started that show and think it's a neat show. However, is it just me or are they going overboard with the advertisement? Almost everything you see now has a "bone collector edition" to it. Look, I know there the hottest brand in hunting right now and that's how they pay the bills. I get that part. However, I'm afraid it's going to back fire on them as people are getting sick of seeing Bone Collector on EVERYTHING. Most of the guys in the hunting industry built there brand over time and through years of producing products people enjoyed. Since, I was a teenager I have waited for mid-summer to get my copy of the latest monster bucks video/dvd. I watched those guys because they killed big bucks. They taught me something and was entertaining. But as i watch the BC shows it's like one big commercial, with sparatic moments of hunting. I know time changes everything. I get that and these guys usher in a new age in the hunting industry. However, my concern is people are going to turn away from the hunting shows and outdoor television because it's too commercialized. Most people hunt to get away from commercialization. They enjoy the simplicity of the outdoors. Atleast i do. One more thing and I'll zip it. The commercials aren't working for you. They're cheesy and ruin your credability. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. I hope these guys will tone it back a little and keep there shows about hunting and the values it represents. camoman1
Its not just the BC guys, seems like everyone is doing that. Thats why theres only a handfull of these outdoor shows I watch. Every once in a while I give one of the shows crossed off my list another chance.....most of the time I am switching the channel before too long. Adjam5
It is their day in the sun. They are the hottest bunch right now in the hunting industry so they are capitalizing on it. Cannot blame them. I would love to be there too. Waddy is taking his friends along for the ride and the guests( Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert), are some of the most popular in their field also. I think over exposure could be an issue. They are everywhere, I agree. But I would think/hope they have someone advising them on all that Hollywood exposure stuff and how not to make it work against you.

The_Kat
I agree some of the commercials are cheezy and it can be a bit much....but thats the name of the game. Money makes TV.....not advertising sponsors does not.

ruttinbuc
I have my favorites. That gang is one of them. They are only doing a job and part of that job is selling. I spent time down in Nashville last year and got to meet and greet some of the biggest names in the outdoor industry. Some not so famous, also. All of them put their pants on the same way we do. Most do not forget where they came from. Most work very hard at what they do. They have to pay the bills just like everybody else. Besides, what isn't commercialized today? oh ya, some will even buy you a cup of coffee! Thanks, David Hale!

unioncountyslayer
Well, it worked for Michael Jordan, and continues to work for him even 8 years after his retirement. It pays their bills and regular joes get the satisfaction out of wearing and using the same stuff they do. Overboard, maybe, but it's the American Way. djhollis
I dont think they go overboard i think they are just proud of what they have become. they were just like us at one time and I am proud to wear the bone collector patch because who knows one of us could someday have the luck they did
stevebeilgard
well, there are more than just a few related shows out there. as with anything else, it's all about the ratings. high ratings equal bigger paychecks. simple as that.
