mastr001
I will be hunting in Washington, Alabama this weekend which is southwest alabama and was wondering what food source they are hitting right now. And if there is any updates on rutting activity goin on. Any information would be great. Thanks
BAMABUCKS
From what I've seen (which isn't much) the deer are eating any left over acorns that they can find that haven't spoiled with all the water. If you have a good green field that hasn't flooded, I am sure that they are on that as well (esp after dark). As far as the rut...mixed back depending on who you ask. As of this weekend it was sporatic at best. Seems to be that the young bucks are willing (of course), but the major chasing/breeding seems to still be a ways off. Find the major food source in your area & be patient. They have to eat (esp in these temps) and we all know, find the does favorite food & let them be the bait! Good luck with your remaining season.
