toddyboman
Well he is still alive....... I watched him one night in my food plot and I am sure he walked by one of my stands.....Just the wind was wrong for that set up that night.:hammer1: Here are some new pics......I now am think he will die. It appears to me that he is loosing weight. That muscle looks like its deteriorating as well. I only have 3 or 4 more days to hunt.....sure hope it all comes together. camoman1
I agree, hes not looking so good. Hope you can get a shot at him so he doesnt have to die the hard way.

PotashRLS
I would get him mounted and also ask the taxidermist about options with his leg. I would not eat him though as he may be septic from the injury. If you don't get him, you'll be able to keep tabs on him for next year. I do think though that if he truely was declining to the point of eventual death, he would have cast his antlers already due to the stress. Diamond Archer 01
Ya, he doesn't look so good. Good luck hunting for the next few days. Maybe you will get him.
Doc
Man, that deer is in pretty poor rig. I hope you can put him down. He doesn't look good at all. There's an awful lot of winter left, and he doesn't look like he'll make it. Doc
Turkeygirl
Poor guy...yeah just like the buck I shot...I'd say try and get out there and still hunt, he's not going to jump up fast and run very well. He'll stay bedded as long as he can and in the condition he's in, not much energy to move either. Good luck! Hope you can track him down! Turkeygirl
Oh yeah, wanted to mention the buck I shot like that one, well I was crinkling wrappers and what not and even the wind was blowing towards the direction he came in and he didn't even care. I had to almost scream to get him to stop...He was dead on his feet basically. Might not hurt to maybe get a couple friends to try a small push to move him. Stone Cold
He will go for a while yet look at the one I showed pictures of that that whole quarter was gone. He lived till spring and then it was over for him. Hope you get him though!
toddyboman
Well its over.....hunting season that is. For me atleast. Season ends tomorrow but I will not be able to hunt. The weather changed for us and it seemed to change the deer patterns too. SO in my last efforts I never saw him. Since season is now over I will start feeding corn.... I am sure if he is around he will find the corn so I will keep getting pics of him....assuming he is alive. I hope he is, I sure don't wanna find him shed hunting...Well I wanna find his antlers just not attached to his head. I will keep you all updated as I learn/see more.... toddyboman
If you are going to feed corn and he fines it he will be fine. every year after all deer seasons are over I general feed corn......I like to see what bucks are still around and it gives me a great idea when to start shed hunting my property. I purchases 1100 lbs just the other day.....and our season ended on the 15th (friday) so tomorrow I will start the feeding Im sorry Im not one to do this but I swear I feel so bad for that dude Id just about go out there and kill him any way possible.... forget the bow.... I know thats not right or legal but I just cant stand to see him like that... While I agree I hate to see or think about him suffering or becoming a coyote meal....no way I could do that. Not worth loosing my hunting rights!!!! Mother nature is sometimes cruel I guess.......
