Swamphunter
I was wondering what optics most of you use on your AR-15's?? I was thinking about using the Aimpoint Comp ML3 with the Larue Tactical mounts....
PotashRLS
I put a Simmons 3x9x40 that I had laying around on mine. I used it to break the gun in and eventually get around to calling some yotes. It is not my first choice for a Home Defense site but then again, it would not be the first gun I grap in a hurry. If money wasn't an option, I would have two uppers, one for HD and one for hunting. The HD one would have an Aimpoint or Eotech.
bluelund79
Iron sights. For dark shooting, I use the larger apeture rear peep. Too many years of iron sighted M4s and M16s will do that to a person. If and when I go to a sight, it'll be a reflex style sight, most likely an EOTECH or an Aimpoint... BuckStopsHere
If your looking for more close end shooting than that aimpoint is an excellent choice you won't be disappointed!
Adjam5
Going top shelf huh Ken . Great choices. LaRue makes some of the best mounts out there. Look at Yankee hill also. http://yhm.net/store/rails.html Aimpoint also is one of the sights being used in the sandbox as is the EOTech. I went with the Vortex Strike fire red dot on my M4. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/vortex-strikefire-red-dot-riflescope.aspx?a=451768 I don't want to say it is a poor mans red dot, because it is way better than that. It comes with a high ring mount just for the AR type rifles at a good price. Aim with both eyes open. If I had the dough, I would have went with the EOTech http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/eotech-557-ar223-holographic-sight.aspx?a=556344 or an Aimipoint. Trijicon has also gotten some great write ups and is highly regarded in the sandbox according to my bud who just came home from there. http://www.natchezss.com/optics.cfm?contentID=opticsType&opticsType=8&opticsClass=0&powerCategory=0&powerRange=0&objective=0&reticle=0&tubeDiameter=0&finish=0&mfg=TR&mfgName=Trijicon Good Luck.
