Yellowhammer
Lane Kiffin will be the next USC coach, Rivals.com has confirmed. Kiffin will replace Pete Carroll, who left to take the Seattle Seahawks head coaching job. Kiffin coached Tennessee for one year, leading the Vols to a 7-6 record a trip to the Chick-fil-A Bowl. muggs
1) not sure what this dbag has done to keep getting all these jobs. he hasn't won anything, or anywhere. 2) this guy is starting to make nick saban look ethical 3) i need a shower- these dudes are sleazy 4) the NCAA needs to do something about this. the system is flawed. unioncountyslayer
They hired him because basically most of the studs USC had back in Carroll's first few years were recruited by Kiffin. He still has a lot to prove as a head coach, and I can't stand the guy, but he's got a way with bringing in talent. Plus, he's got one of the best staff's on the market

dogdoc
I don't know if he was actually their first choice but with possible stiff NCAA sanctions coming down on USC it might be the best hire they could get with a person that has had previous ties to USC.
