Turkeygirl
And when we think we have things rough....More and more info and photos are coming in on TV from Haiti...very tragic... Anyone else following the news on it? Really puts things in perspective...is making me count my blessing and look at what I have and where I am in life....The people there, they started out with so little and now they basically have nothing. And with the heat they have down there and lack of everything, who knows what disease outbreak and such medical issues they could face...definitely not good down there at all.... Tominator
I've been to Haiti too many times, it's basically a population that borders on anarchy. Really too bad.

GWSmith
I cant imagine anyone with a Heart not being effected by such devastation to fellow human beings. It does really put into perspective our petty little issues like being frustrated about having to go to the store for water to make coffee this morning because the hotel had a waterline break. Prayers for all who have passed and those suffering and effected by the Quake.
camoman1
Looks like a truly horrible situation down there.....
stevebeilgard
it is such a very sad situation. and it truly hilights politics. 1/2 the island is a republic with a duly elected official. it has rules, regulations, elections, and even building codes. they have good employment and a good economy. the other half, haiti, has a dictator and a socialist economy. terrible employment, lots of corruption, and all the evil that comes from dictators, no jobs, and no hope. same island, same storm, much different outcomes. and obama wants to socialize america. let's see how much foreign aid cuba sends to haiti. our military aid is there right now and LOTS more coming in the next few days. withe what little each person may get they will most likely have more when we leave than last week. what's really sad is that 95% of these poor folks are good god fearing christians. catholics, i believe. Obama has socialized America already. It is amazing what little some people will sell their birthright for.....our founding members would be very ashamed of the gimme generation's pure selfishness. Take from my children, grandchildren, and their grandchildren to give me some substandard thing for free. But as for Haiti, those people are only acting like they have been taught--as are you and I. I can't blame them for their circumstances any more than I can blame many Japanese during WWII for their Country's government. In America, it is a shame if someone doesn't make something of themselves because of the opportunities that are there. Those opportunities just simply aren't there in Haiti.
