buckee
Summer of 1970 ...... Jimi Hendrix. Had lunch with him. Actually a very nice guy. I saw Jimi at the same concert, but I didn't stop to talk ..LOL:) ------------------------------------------- I grew up and went to school with James (Jimmy) Cameron. He wasn't famous then, but he sure is now. He was a great guy and one heck of an artist even in grade school. This is both of us in grade 8, sitting side by side. We just finished working on a Centennial Mural for the school, which depicts the History of Chippawa where Jimmy and I both grew up. I met Nick Adonidas (Bruno Gerussi) who was one of the main actors in the Beachcombers, and I also knew Jesse Jim (Pat John) Both guys pictured below. I used to live right there in Gison's Landing where they filmed the show. Seen Relic a few times in passing, just to say hi. I had a real run-in with Pat John one time in a Local hotel there. There was this sweet girl I knew who frequented the Bar, who was deaf and dumb, but anyone who knew her had no problem communicating with her. One night Pat John was there, drunk (as usual..thinking he's God's gift to women) and tried to put the hustle on her. Well, he was rather perturbed when she wouldn't speak to him, so he sat there making fun of her with his friend. I was sitting right beside them listening. He was telling his friend how stupid, ugly and retarded she was, and on and on until I just heard enough, I got up, went over to him and told him she was def and dumb, NOT stupid or retarded, and if he wanted to discuss it ....step outside. He backed down and left with his buddy. I was ticked. And I was very privileged to not only meet this guy, but to also be able to call him my friend. He's getting more famous every day. and of course I also met a famous Pro-staffer for Realtree. A guy named Steve Beilgard. He is also a very good friend. Adjam5
OK... big secret to reveal. I was a kid model/actor from when I was 5 years old until when I was 14. I worked for Ford Models in NYC. Very demanding on a kid. Home from school, in a car to go to work, didn't have time to be a teenager. That is why I stopped. Did two movies and many modeling gigs. James Farrantino(actor) Brooke Shields( did a movie with her when we were 12, Alice Sweet Alice) Kristy McNichol(had lunch with her while skiing in the Poconos in the late 70's) Louis Armstrong Jackie Mason Dom Deluise( met him on the street in Manhattan) Burt Young(celebrated New years eve with him in 1986) Penny Marshall( always asked me to open electric closet so she could hide and have a cigarette when she went to Yankee games:)) Jack Nicolson( at Yankee Stadium) Anthony Hopkins( Yankee Stadium) Jeniffer Lopez(what a babe... she grew up a block away from my Grand ma's house) Ricky Henderson, Dave Stewart, Jose Canseco( drove a limo 12 hours for them, they didn't even tip...cheap skates) I worked at Yankee Stadium for 9 years(93-01) as an electrician. Yes, I worked all the World Series there during my time there. Did concerts there also. Met Roger Waters, Billy Joel and Bono. They all played there. Met many sport stars. Got a load of autographs on balls too . Joe Dimaggio( I was in awe), Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, Joe Torre, Al Kaline, Jim Palmer, Ed Kranepool, Derek Jeter, John Franco, David Cone, Andy Pettite, Roger Clemens(VERY INTIMIDATING), Wade Boggs( talked archery with him often), Cecil Fielder, Mike Piazza, Chad Curtis(talked hunting), Bernie Williams, Mike Stanton(always talked hunting with him), Harold Renolds, Ozzie Smith, Mark Grace, Barry Bonds, Dwight Gooden( my close friend customized his Mercedes), Darryl Strawberry, Mark Jackson of the Knicks( had dinner with him and his wife), Don Mattingly( helped him load his dually Chevy at the stadium). So many sport stars I forget. Cardinal O'Connor, former NY Gov. George Pataki, I was rude to Chuck Schumer at a Labor Day breakfast in 2001. I refused to shake his hand. Caught a tongue lashing from my union boss for that one. From this forum. Tink Nathan at his home in Texas and Tim Andrus at my home for backstraps. Hoping to meet more from this forum soon.
