wtnhunt
Uhhgg!!! why cant they hold still for like 2 seconds? i either missed or it didnt bleed at all Should have told the full story there kiddo. lol. Got the second segment of our youth deer hunt this weekend, we had heard what I am sure was a deer move out of the gully on the way to the stand about 5:55. Hit a bleat call and within a few minutes out comes a yote from about 190 yards out, it was about 7:15. Yote went towards what was left of a deer carcass and Christina got on it coming towards us in the tall grass, but the yote was steady moving and think it may have sensed something was up or may have caught our wind, it did not stop at the carcass. I tried the can call again and it stopped for a second and started back to moving. Guess Christina was expecting the yote to stop like a deer, but it stayed moving pretty steady. Tried a lip squeak and the yote stopped again briefly, the yote was now headed for the brush and told her she needed to take the shot now. I gave a lip squeak and a whistle and it stopped again for just a second and she was on it and shot with her .243 shooting 100 grain win power points at about 120 yards. Yote was going left to right and it snapped around like it was hit at first heading back the direction it came from, but then as it was running off I was not so sure if it was hit. She thought she hit it, she was aiming for the head but said she may have pulled it. I thought she may have hit it in the neck. Too bad if she missed, still think she may have hit it in the neck though.
PA_Spike_King
Don't feel bad, I have missed yotes at 25 yards and never got shots at them running at different times. I had one sneak right up to me (less than 15 yards) and just stood there as I raised my gun and took off like I shot them in the butt. lilmisswtnhunt
:angry:i know that i pulled to the left just barely and it was goin right. its head was down so i almost had to have hit it in the neck cuz i never pull right so i couldnt have shot in front of it. i dont usually hit high and when i do its not by much. so i dont think i shot over it. i almost never hit low sow i dont think i shot under it. and if had held still for like 2 seconds it would have a big hole in its head and there would be pictures of it on here.
