Big Ten guy, has been told he was too small his whole life, overcame a trade and injury, decided to sign with the Saints to help the city recover...good guy.

He's not raping chicks in hotel rooms and then paying them to go away like some unnamed NFL QBs...**cough** Big Ben **cough**

Help the city to recover? He had 60 million reasons why he signed with the Saints back in '06 and not the Dolphins. Sure, he helps the city now, but what NFL QB doesn't do some type of charity work in their city? The only reason you hear about Brees' charity work is because of the Katrina coverage. Kudos to him, A+ for sure, but that ain't the only reason he signed the deal........:hammer1:

Well, Tom, not all people care only about money. You sound like TO's agent, man. To make your poor point even more moot, he could have got that 60 million from about 6 other teams, which includes the Bears and Dolphins. He had similar offers.

He's been quoted as saying that he felt the timing of Katrina, as well as his free agency, that he was destined to sign with New Orleans so he could help the city recover. Which he began to do almost immediately. I do understand your point, with the amount of coverage Katrina gets, his charity work involving that effort in turns gets more coverage than say, Peyton Manning's charity. But what you aren't realizing is that in addition to his Katrina relief work, he's also very involved with USO missions and he's visited the troops at Guantanomo Bay.

Add to that fact he's been the main reason a once beleaguered franchise is now one game away from the Super Bowl, the guy is standup. He's a family man, and I respect him.

I sure as heck am going to like a guy like that over a dbag like Brett Fav-rah, who is still only talking about himself in his 40 minute long post-game pressers. And I'm also going to respect him a lot more than an over-weight womanizer who talks like he's from the ghetto like, Big Ben (Findlay Ohio, not really so ghetto Ben, don't be a poser).

Guess you guys can rip me for that, but I wouldn't pee on Fav-rah if he was on fire. Brees, I just respect, and I like to see selfless people succeed.

Sounds to me like if this guy actually thinks that by him signing with the Saints he would magically help the city recover then/than he has an ego bigger then/than your boy Fav-rah.:hammer1:

Yeah, using your fame and money to do good is very egotistical...the world should be full of such creeps.:hammer1:
