slughunter
I have gotten kinda sick of having to pay out $400+ everytime I shoot a nice deer to get it head mounted. So I just bought all the stuff needed to do it and tried it myself. Its deffenetly far from perfect but for my first attempt I am very happy. -shane

huntinsonovagun
Did you use a video to help you out? What (if any) other training materials did you use? Looks good! Not perfect, but I have seen a ton of mounts by "professional" taxidermists that are about the same quality. I'm looking to start doing my own stuff more and more. Just can't seem to find many taxidermists I'm satisfied with, plus anymore doesn't seem like you can always count on getting your animal back..... I have one of the Rhinehart videos on mounting a deer. And I did a 5 day apprenticeship for school 2 years ago with a taxidermist here in town which helped a lot. Its actually a lot easier than you think. A good video is a big help. I would highly recomment trying it atleast once. -shane
RTF
You need to practice more on the ears. They look way off from the pic's. I think your gonna have a problem with drumming down the road.

slughunter
You need to practice more on the ears. They look way off from the pic's. I think your gonna have a problem with drumming down the road. I think they turned out good. They are matched identically to 3 other deer mounts in our house with the same pose. Maybe they are just bad pics. -shane
