Shaun_300
I've been a smoker since I was 15, off and on. Decided to give it up today. I wasn't able to go outside for the first 48 hours in the hospital so they gave some sort of nicorette inhaler and a patch to cope with the cravings. It worked so good I decided to kick the habit for good! Had my last one a couple hours ago now I have the Nicoderm patch on and chewing some Thrive gum. So far so good. Phredator
Good Job! I chewed Copenhagen for 25 years and quit 5 years ago. I feel much better for it.
Shaun_300
Well it's been 6 or 7 hours since the last cig, feel great! No cravings whatsoever, even when Dave and I went for our nightly Tim Hortons coffee. Think this is going to be easier than I thought. Tominator
Never took you for a smoker Shaun. Glad you're quitting. You don't need it.
joeaveragehunter
I could always quit smoking whenever I wanted. Copenhagen tastes better anyway. Ha ha, but seriously, good for you. I have been off and on with snuff for years and wish I could just be done with it. It sure is easier when you aren't around other people that use. Good Luck. Shaun_300
18 hours and counting, here I sit with the inhaler dangling out of my yap and the patch on my arm. No cravings what so ever! Just a little when I woke up, but a few hauls on this thing fixed that pretty quick.

ruttinbuc
I quit cold turkey 12 years(?) ago. It was not easy but i did it. You can too, if you really want to. Don't even count the days hours minutes. Forget about it period. :cool2:
Turkeygirl
Keep at it Shaun! the benefits outway everything! Your risk of a heart attack, etc, is literally cut in 1/2 when you quit smoking... Mom quit when she broke her leg and was in the hospital...smoking hinders healing as well...God works in mysterious ways. And don't worry, you might gain a few pounds, it's normal after quitting, not too mention you'll be able to smell and taste better!
Shaun_300
I already gained 12 pounds when I was in the hospital! Oh well, it's not that I'm overweight at 6'4" 172lbs. I'd be fine with 190-200. 24 hours!!! No:smoke: :yes:
twowetdogz
Congrats on quitting Shaun. I'm doing the same thing right now too. Had my last cigarette on Tuesday. So far....so good. My doctor said days 3 and 4 are usually the hardest. So, hang in there....and keep it up.
