Okbwhtr
Info Great deer, wonder where it was shot. Scorable Points: 37 Kill Date: Nov. 3, 2009 County: Grundy, Kendall, Not sure Season: Bow Bowhunter Chris Kiernan of Morris shot this monster buck in the vicinity of his hometown. We have heard various reports of Grundy and Kendall counties but are uncertain at this time. Kiernan was reportedly very aware of the buck and had been hunting him for two years. The buck reportedly has 27 points on one side and 17 on the other, though not all are scorable points. We will have more details as they become available. Mach1
If it breaks the current record non-typical by 4 inches (Bryant Buck 304 3/8, Fulton Co. 2001, taken by crossbow), that puts it in the neighborhood of scoring 308-309. I read on Mike Hanback's website that the hunter and his buddies green scored the deer around 266 and change. http://www.mikehanback.com/blog/index.cfm/2009/11/23/Illinois-Giant-Archery-Buck Edited January 22, 2010 by Mach1

Mach1
I've been looking for an online listing of Illinois' top scoring bucks and haven't been able to find one. Anybody know where this can be found?
Stone Cold
prairiestateoutdoors.com has some big ones that are killed for the year on it. This Monster was killed not to far from where I live.
Okbwhtr
Compound bow If it breaks the current record non-typical by 4 inches (Bryant Buck 304 3/8, Fulton Co. 2001, taken by crossbow), that puts it in the neighborhood of scoring 308-309. I read on Mike Hanback's website that the hunter and his buddies green scored the deer around 266 and change. http://www.mikehanback.com/blog/index.cfm/2009/11/23/Illinois-Giant-Archery-Buck I talked with the guys who help drag it out. Maybe thats Pope and Young record with a compound bow. Any other weapon really should not count in archery. Eventually will see and know once its officially scored. TravisM
See the link, I think it will be insightful. http://www.prairiestateoutdoors.com/index.php?/hunting/stories If you look at that list of non-typicals, the #1 was a crossbow kill (Bryant buck) #2, #3 were shotgun kills, and the #4 (Jones buck 267 1/8") was killed with a compound bow. So technically, the biggest buck killed with a "bow" in Illinois is a 267 1/8". No matter the score that bruiser this guy killed is unreal! Congrats to him for sure.
