Slugger
Anyone know what kind of velocity i should be getting from this load Ive been shooting it for a couple years now but was just curious, never shot it past 100 yds so I dont even know the trajectory any ideas? its 120grains of loose 777 3f with a 195gr .357 prb dead center out of a .45 cal omega. Like I said just curious on what the velocity and traj. should be Thanks
layin on the smackdown
I'd say fast and straight... i shoot 100 gr of 777 pellets and a 223 grain powerbelt in a .50 caliber and that is one straight shooting sucker...I have 0 drop at 150 yds. You are shooting a lighter bullet with more powder and a smaller caliber - so my answer is fast and straight.

Well thats kinda what I was figuring but dont really know for sure, Ive heard that loose 777 is hotter than pellets and I havent found any velocity charts that include my bullet and my powder. Best i have figured it should be close to 2900 fps but was wanting someone with a little more experience and resources to back that up. or tell me otherwise. Guess im gonna have to burn some powder and get out and shoot some long range with it to find out what the traj. is . Only reason I havent done that is Theres not a whole lotta places I hunt that I can shoot over 100 yds anyway. Im thinking of setting that same bullet up with a very low powder charge for my 6 yr. old to use on his first deer hunt this fall.
Buzz
A couple of things..... I have killed more deer than I can remember with a 45 cal T/C Cherokee loaded with a Maxi-ball and 70 grs of FFG. So 70 grs will, without a doubt, kill a whitetail deer. Unless Indiana has changed the law your setup is illegal. Projectile must be .45, .357 is to small.

The gun must be at least .44 cal with a projectile no less than .357 been that way for about 4 or 5 years now.
Urban_Redneck
The sabot would likely fail at anything approaching 2900 fps. You are probably around 2200 fps, only a chronograph will tell you the truth.
marshall9779
I too would say somewhere in the neighborhood of 2100-2200 fps.
