Strut10
Me and Lil Strut10 were out yesterday doing some chainsawing/habitat improvements on the Strut10 ranch. We had finished up and were lugging equipment up over the hill to the Jeep. I about stepped on the first shed of the year!! Of course, it could have been the first shed of the year last year, too. It's a 2009 drop and pretty well chewed at that. But it's a shed nonetheless. Appears to be a smallish 2 1/2 year antler. Heavy for its size with 4 points and a sticker off the base. The G2 is a whisher under 6 inches for scale.
Turkeygirl
Nice find Strut! From the looks of it, it looks older, maybe 2008?
Strut10
Could be. I have a similar shed from the same general area from a couple years bac. I think it's got way longer points. But I'll have to dig it out and compare.

Strut10
Where have we seen this before????????? I got to looking around. My wife's uncle (you know him as Uncle John in the forums) gave me this shed (on the right) last year, I believe. He had found it on a flat, just down over the hill from where i picked up the one yesterday. Yesterday's find is the 2008 drop of the same buck. Way cool!! What's crazy is......this guy's never showed up on any of my trail cams, despite losing antlers within 100-150 yards of a camera location for the last two years. woolybear
That makes it an extra awesome find- Very cool indeed! Congrats
Strut10
Now I'm really intent on finding this year's sheds. I'm super puzzled as to how this guy's eluded my sight and my cameras. Both of the sheds were found within 100 yards or so of Lil Strut10's archery stand. Beats me as to how we haven't caught a glimpse of this fellow. I'd also like to see the tine length from this year!! The last year's shed has a 9" G3 and there's about 2-3" missing off the G4 (which I have.......rodent chewing had it paper thin & it broke off) in the photo. toddyboman
very cool find Don! Great history to go with it! It always amazes me how buck elude hunters and trail cameras then sheds show up.......
