bloodtrails
Do you think it's wrong if you don't share some of your sweet spots with your friends? Should you do it? or should you keep them to yourself?
Tom2008
It is definitely not wrong at all to keep your good spots away from friends. I guess it depends how close of a friend they are. I wouldn't just let anyone into to my secrets spots.

The Kid
keep them to yourself,, I always wanted to put my friends in my "good spots" but then they started hunting with me, and they hunted sloppy so why should i give them my spot if there not going to hunt it right
Tominator
Depends on the friend. I never withhold information with Ohiobucks or muggs or guys like that. When it comes to them, I think I'd actually be happier if they hunted those spots so they could kill a couple giants like I have.

joeaveragehunter
Only have one friend I tell where some of my spots are. But he also has some permission and lets me hunt there also. He is also a pretty meticulous hunter.
camoman1
My buddies an I share everything exept deer hunting spots. Mainly because none of us own the property we hunt on. The guy who owns the stuff I hunt lets me bring others on it for turkey and goose hunting so I share those spots willingly. As far as anything on public land goes that either of us find...its normally openly shared....at least I hope it is lol Same goes for fishing spots. Times are tough, and good places to hunt can be hard to come by around here. I like seeing my buddies son be successful about as much as I enjoy gettin the critters myself. I hunted the morning and saw four doe off about 125 yards, so I didn't look around that much. Saw a few rubs and actually, the deer sign there was so concetrated I'm sure it will be a honey hole. You're welcome to come up whenever.

ChrisSeb53
I only share sweet spots with the landowner of the property I am hunting (they typically already know them) or family. Basically people I trust wont try and wonder in without knowing what they are doing.. lay out of the land and other things, as you guys know, have a big influence on whether you will bag or bust that big fella you are after... if you simply let anybody in there not only would you ruin your chances of bagging that buck, but also ruin it for anybody else you trust in that area
Rhino
Depends on the friend. I never withhold information with Ohiobucks or muggs or guys like that. When it comes to them, I think I'd actually be happier if they hunted those spots so they could kill a couple giants like I have. Same here. I'll share my spots with my good friends, both young and old. They wouldn't mind me hunting there spots either but I usually stick to hunting my own though. Just a personal satisfaction thing I have. I'm just as happy to see them killing some big ones off my stands & spots as I am if I killed them myself (sometimes happier). I have the freedom to spend more time in the woods than most so I figure I'll get my licks in. My attitude is...when you're sharing the same land with good friends it's a lot more fun if everyone's participating in the opportunity to kill some nice bucks. After all, when you're hunting leased land we need each other's money to pay the lease.
Prairiepredator
I think it depends on the person. Personally, I don't really have any good spots because I have not been hunting long enough to know any. I have had a few friends show me some of their favorite spots so if I did have any I would probably show them.
spykbuc
i usually keep my spot to myself. i do have a few guys i bow hunt with and we share spots. but my gun stand off limits to all. its quite and im left along.
MUDRUNNER
I usually like to keep my spots to myself until I get some meat in the freezer. After that I hook up my hunting buddies. It's pretty rewarding for me to put a good buddy in one of my stands and have him bag a deer. I do have certain rules for hunting my stands, so nobody gets too sloppy when they're there. RangerClay
I share them with the four other guys in my hunting group. Everyone else can find their own spot to hunt.

Limbhanger
As friends we like to share, although have learned my lesson a few times, keep it to yourself.
stcif
Nope. If they truly are friends, I see no problem. We have all heard stories of hunters inviting "friends" who then invite "friends" and the land is then no longer available to hunt. I'd say that type of person is more of an acquantance. If the person truly is a friend, then I say no problem sharing all your secrets. I have learned it is better to give than receive. This is a personal decision. Good luck with it. QDMAworks4me
We own 2 pieces of property and our family farm is family only, that is about 450 acres. Our family has certain areas that we hunt on the farm until someone gets their buck. Once someone gets their buck we sometimes start to hunt the places where others have stands set up. On our other 80 acre piece we allow friends to hunt that and always share the good spots there.

Even then i will only share if i am getting out smarted by the deer. I then hope to receive an invite to their hotspots as well.
