My Boss bought a Remington R-25 with a Nikon Monarch in a 243 last week...:gun1:

Oh...And 2000 rounds of ammo to go with it...

I tell you what...This thing is sweet to shoot...

The only thing I don't like about it is the weight and the price...

It's pretty chuncky and pretty pricey that's for sure...

I asked the Boss why a gun like this...

And he said...

I figure you could carry it around with you in the tractor while your feeding cows...

I told him Thanks but No Thanks...

So it's in my Truck...

The R25 is a Bushmaster made for Remington. They are both owned by the same parent company, Ceberus.

Now with that lower...your boss can also buy you other uppers in .308, 7mm-08, 6.5 Grendel any caliber based on the .308 cartridge. Be a good employee and make sure he knows that. :).

Have fun with it.

Are you sure the R25 is not a DPMS??

I didn't think Bushmaster made anything but a 5.56mm platform.

Don, I just don't see a company that makes their own AR's(Bushmaster) having a competing company make one for them. The R25 may be exclusive to Remington only.

DPMS is their own company, not part of the conglomerate Ceberus.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that dpms was acquired by cerberus. If you scroll down on remington's home page you will see both the dpms and bushmaster brands listed. Thought I had also read the same somewhere about the remington r-25 and r-15 rifles being built for remington by either dpms or bushmaster.

Looks like an acquisistion took place in December of 2007 http://www.shootingwire.com/shooting_wire_release.html?releaseID=124422.

I sit corrected. Thanks for the info. Next time I need to check, like you guys did before I type:rolleyes:. I thought that owning two AR manufacturers would be counter productive which is why I went that direction. But maybe because of the .308 action was the draw to acquire DPMS.

Anyway...thanks for the info William.

Bushmaster also bought out Cobb Mfg. in Georgia who made some really nice black guns. The R-25 is sweet, but just way too much for what it is. I would just buy a DPMS or Bushmaster. I mean its the same thing really.
