I can tell you this, making 100k a year around here is great money to many. But in NYC and surrounding areas( NJ and CT). You will live no life of luxury if you have a few kids. Just about keeping your head above water. Example...a 1300sqft ranch home on a 1/3 of an acre ... $9800 a year in property tax. That comes out of your net, not your gross. See what I mean?
