Bowtech_archer07
And I go to 3rd Shift (11-7) today. I'm excited because things will be busier on this shift than on 1st shifts, but i'm definitely not looking forward to staying up all night. I slept in really late today so I'm hoping that helps. Things are still going great during this internship and I'm loving every second of it. Just thought I'd update everyone on how it's goin! In order to ride along with alot of depts here you have to be sworn in and "deputized" and carry a sidearm...just in case. Our ride alongs were told never to fire the weapon unless the officer was fired upon and was A) requested you fire back or B) was shot. Ya that makes sense in a state that is so Democrat because of little city called Chicago Kyle. In OK, I can see that happening but not here in IL. I mean I know how to handle a sidearm and I have a FOID card, but I can't see that ever happening here in IL.
The_Kat
Well stay safe bud. Another reason alot of departments don't allow passengers to carry sidearms is liability reasons if something goes wrong....I just got approved ( Background Investigation ) to do some shifts with the OHP for a few weeks. I'll be equipped with a sidearm.
