warshard
What is the forum members' experience/recommendation(s) with owl hooters that do not require any back pressure to operate--my asthma has gotten so bad, I cannot get any volume from the call I've used for years that requires back pressure. Ethan Givan
I dont use an owl hooter much but my dad has one thats made by H.S. Strut I think that sounds pretty good. Its really easy to blow. Here is a link to one like my dads. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_91326____SearchResults I dont know if this would bother your asthma or not. There are alot of other options for locator calls besides owl hooters though. My favorite is a crow call. Hope this helps.
NiteRunner
I use the Primos Power Owl, but it's not the best. A friend of mine had one from MAD, man if that thing couldn't get one to gobble there were no turkeys in the area.
warshard
I took a look at the MAD owl call on line-do you know if back pressure is needed to operate--additionally, any info out there about the Palmer's Hoot Tube sold by HS Strut---thanks for the comments so far-- Regards-- WARSHARD
JackedUpZ71
I use a palmer's hoot tube and it works pretty good. Mine takes a pretty decent amount of air to get the right sound though.

Strut10
The Palmer's maple hoot tube is about as realistic as you will find.

Outdoorzman
My advice would be to stick with a hoot tube or hoot flute if you have trouble with backpressure. These are the plastic barrel calls that you simply cover a hole with a finger and blow into. Absolutely no backpressure at all but the lack of pressure reduces volume. That said, you could always amplify the call by cupping it with a coffee can or call adapter bell taken from like a moose call or whatever.
