Yesterdays walk in the woods

I went out shed hunting yesterday (Feb 04). Didn't find any sheds, because I don't think too many have dropped yet, but I did get some video and pic footage.(sorry for the fuzzy pics...no tripod with me)

Here is a doe that I stumbled past. She felt quite secure laying where she was, and I didn't want to disturb her too much, so I took a quick picture. Too bad I didn't bring my tripod.

This doe however, didn't feel as secure and stood up to see if I was going to threaten her. I took a few pics, and continued on my way. I think she just laid back down ..LOL

Another very relaxed doe. She never even got up. I try my best not to be threatening.

This little spiker was very well hidden in the blackberries. If I wasn't standing on higher ground looking down into the blackberry patch, I would have never known he was there. Again, I think he felt pretty well hidden, because he never budged an inch.

And of course, I got some snow-drops, but to make you all jealous, I got these pretty snowy pictures...LOL. Spring is just around the corner here on the west coast.

And here is a video I took of a poor wounded doe, who got hit by a vehical no doubt. I hope she heals up OK. I could have easily ran her down, and put her out of her misery, but I'll let God & Nature decide her fate.

Nice pics Steve....I can't believe how green it is there at this time of year.....and i also can't believe how close those deer let you get....pretty neat.

We only got one day of snow here this year so far, but lots of rain and wind.

Those deer let me get close because they didn't think I could see them ..;) accept for that poor cripple in the video. I wasn't quite as close as it looks. I was at least 15 yrds from them. I've got to learn not to try to zoom in so close, so I can get clearer pictures.

Nice Steve. What you call blackberries and what I have down here are a little different....

Too bad about the doe :(

Like Dan said, pretty cool to get so close. Hard to get pics like that around here.

The berries you see there aren't the blackberries. They're other things growing in with the Blackberries. The red things are wild rose hips, but I'm not sure what those blue berries are.

These are the blackberries
