RangerClay Posted February 7, 2010 Report Share Posted February 7, 2010 "Weeeee are the Champiooons Myyyy Frieeeeends!" :rock: Well with your support and well wishes we won two spots at the Chili Cook-off yesterday. First, we won 2nd place with the judges. This was the same prize that we won last year. We were very happy and proud of that. Next came the crown jewel, the prize that all 34 entrants wanted to earn, Peoples Choice. Everything went silent as the announced the winner, "Number 20, the Chili Bistro!" Our group shouted out so loud in celebration that many of the people around us were startled. No one was more startled than Peter and I. We knew we had good chili but it is hard to compete when offices offer bonuses to their employees who come and vote for them and churches encourage their congregations to come vote for them. But in the end it was great chili that won the vote. We gave out 15 gallons of chili, a 1 ounce spoon at a time. Near as we can figure, we gave out between 750 to 800 cups of chili in a little less than 3 hours. We had tasters backed up 20-30 people deep waiting to try our chili. So thank you all once again for all of the well wishes. I'm off now to finish cleaning up the house from the after party and nurse a too much celebration headache. Someone asked me today if I was going to the big show in Syracuse and I laughed. It took us over a month to get ready for this contest. I'm happy with the best chili in northern New York for now.
