hoyt19
In my question for a new 30-06 I have come into a problem. I dont know which one to buy. Im left handed, so I shot a Remington 700, Browning A-bolt, Winchester 70 and a Ruger 77, and they all felt about the same to me. Prices were also pretty close on all of these rifles. I did have a couple people tell me to shot a savage. What does everyone think, what is the best rifle?
Strut_Buster
Re: New Rifle Question 1. A-Bolt 2. Winchester Model 70 3. Ruger 77 4. Remington700
David_218
Re: New Rifle Question The rifles, you listed are all about the same and are good. My rifle is a Ruger M-77 MKII in .270, also have one in 7.62 X 39 m/m. Which ever you can afford is the best way to go.
AJ
Re: New Rifle Question Yes Strut, we all know you are anti Remington. LOL. My picks out of the guns listed would be the Rem 700 or the Win 70. I am not really a Browning fan although they are good guns.

tedicast
Re: New Rifle Question Personally, I would buy the Remingtom out of those listed, with the Winchester as my second choice. This is a decision you have to make, not anyone else. They are all good guns. go back, and look over each again. Shoulder them. One of them will pick you. tped
Re: New Rifle Question I'd go with the Remington. Very accurate out of the box. My personal opinion is that I have never understood why Brownings are the highest price and the Winchester and Ruger are a toss up in that you may get one that doesnt shoot. Consistently gun for gun the Remingtons that I have all have been the most accurate out of the box

Guest Colorado Bob
Re: New Rifle Question I would get a Tikka. 2nd would be a Savage. 3rd would be the Ruger. Then the Win & Rem. I've got a Model 700-- accurate & dependable. But I don't like the safety----it hangs on my belt loop & tends to move to the "Fire" postion when I sling the gun. I just got a Tikka in 30/06-----Real Nice Gun !! Great trigger, free floated barrel & balanced. Sweet shooting gun. CB

Guest J_Owens_66
Re: New Rifle Question Ruger all the way, had one for 18 years, well my dad has had it that long, i have had it for 16, and it has never failed in the field or at range, so i would take Ruger over anything you have listed. njbowhntr
Re: New Rifle Question Remington. I have 4 Remington bolt actions. I would not trade them for any other bolt.
