Had to dig my Prarie Dog Be Gone and Prarie Dog Be Gone and Beyond movies last night. Watched them till the wee hours of the morning. Just cant wait for spring to get here! Gophers should be out Around the first part of April if the weather is like it was last year. Only about a month and a half to go!!!! dbHunterNY
Yea last year I got varmint/predator rifle it's a Savage model 12 in 223 with a Nikon 6-18x30mm varmint scope. I've got it dialed to shoot groups in less than an inch at 200 yards with 60gr Vmax loaded Black Hills ammo. I'm ready! Here in the Northeast we don't have really huge parcels of land and there are no prarie dogs around, but I know a guy that has gotten 250 woodchucks in a year. It'll be good to keep them from digging holes in my dad's and relatives crop fields.
Muleyman
I can't wait!! They are funnest to shoot with bow. Last year a got about 22 gophers with bow. This year I want to double that. and we got a video camera so I will be able to show everyone our gopher hunts with bow!
Prairiepredator
Those dog be gone videos are awesome! I am getting excited too. There are no prairie dogs here though, just gophers. It will be a little while yet though because we got lots of snow here! My favorite weapon of choice is a bow...but I still like to take out the .22 when I really need to do some serious gopher elimination...if I want to see some serious destruction I will take out the .410 shotgun! This year I want to double that. and we got a video camera so I will be able to show everyone our gopher hunts with bow! Summer before last when i was assistant coach for a babe ruth baseball team in choteau the boys on my team loved to shoot gophers with a bow. So everyday after work and practice we would shoot the gophers off the field. I loved seeing them ride up to the field for practice with their baseball gear and their bow. lol I dont know how many we killed but there were only a couple gophers left on the fields and before we started they were infested. The fields are in city limits so we couldnt use guns but we had a blast. Would shoot till dark and start over the next day. Those dog be gone videos are awesome! I am getting excited too. I love shooting them with a bow too. My little brother and I use 20ga shotguns during the gopher contests to rip the gophers out of the hole to get them back and to shoot 4-6 babies sitting on the mound in one shot. Tails add up quick when those shots are presented!

huntinman802
we dont have prairie dogs here, just a lot of woodchucks. my grandpa and i usually get about 35 or 40 a piece in 2 feild just behind the barn. we used to use our .243s but then we baught a .17HMR and that thing is a blast to shoot em with and the shells are cheaper. TONS OF FUN!!!!!!!!!
