Tominator
Already feeling the pains of bowhunting season over. It's kind of weird too, because I didn't hunt too much after ML season, but now that it's gone, I miss it. Got 3 deer this year and my son got one too, so we have more than enough meat in the freezer. Only 1 with the bow though, and that was a puny fawn. Sure hope next year is better for the ol' Mathews. RangerClay
My bow season has been over since mid-November. I wasn't feeling the bowhunting itch until I got my issue of Peterson Bowhunting with all of the new stuff for 2010. I cannot wait for the snow to clear so the kids and I can make a new ground blind. You should have some left over building material from your new house to make one yourself. then you can ambush those rascally scrub bucks. Turkeygirl
I know...you think season will never come, then it does, then next thing you know it's over and you are sad because it's like it never happened! lol
Orion_70
Bow season has been over since Nov here, deer season closed 3 weeks ago. I've got fever so bad already. Took my bow out the case the other night, got my targets back out, and bought a ML barrel for my encore for next season. It's going to be a long long 7 months
Ohiobucks
I really don't feel the pain of the season being over, but I hunted hard up until the very end. Give me about 2 months, I'll start thinking about it more. By then (hopefully) the snow will be gone, golf clubs come back out, kids will be in baseball/softball practice, and the turkeys will be gobbling. I have enough to keep myself occupied in the off season.....
joeaveragehunter
Once bow season gets done, I am immediately thinking about ways to improve the land for hunting next season. Only bad part up north is we don't plant til may. Couple more months of contemplating what I am gonna plant where.
muggs
I have enough hobbies to keep me going, but I really wish it was the first of November already. I had a pretty good year, killed my biggest buck and filled two doe tags. The best part was introducing a buddy to the sport. He missed a few bucks, and didn't fill a tag but we'll hit the ground running next year.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I really don't feel the pain of the season being over, but I hunted hard up until the very end. I have enough to keep myself occupied in the off season..... Same here. I usually start to unwind a week or two after gun season, or the middle of December. By the time January 1st (the end of hunting season) rolls around hunting isn't even on my mind. Like Tom and Eric said, I have enough to keep me busy during the offseason. I'm already thinking about golf and baseball. Give me a few months though and I'll slowly get back into it, especially when the spring gets here and I can get outside to shoot my bow a bit. Cornfed
With Turkey season right around the corner, it's not so painful that the deer season is over. Also, you can head to the Pro Shop and shoot some video archery as well. Techno Shoot is awesome and at times can seem nearly as fun as the real thing! Tecumseh
I didn't hunt much after Ml season,I filled two tags and didn't take a buck this year but still had a good season, now I'm ready for turkey season.
Tom2008
I'm feeling it too, but I'm even more excited about next year. Have some big plans!
Flintlock1776
Bow season closes here 2/20/10. Plenty of targets if you don't mind hunting the deep cold on leafless trees as wary deer hope to get thru to spring!

Sure hope next year is better for the ol' Mathews. Sounds like Slacker's Remorse to me Chris...Slacker!!! Better tighten up next year bud. I miss it too but I sure can't say I didn't put a lot of time in the woods...enjoyed every minute too. 21 mornings and 26 afternoons during a bow season (6 mornings & 5 afternoons behind the video camera with a buddy in IA). Spent another 15 mornings and 24 afternoons in the woods during the MS firearm seasons. Would have spent more time but I limited out with almost a month left in the MS season. I have to make the best of what time I have left since I probably have about 1/4 of a tank in the fuel tank of life I can spend bowhunting now. Anyway...turkey season is less than a month away. Getting the golf clubs ready for action too. If the weather ever cooperates I'll hit the woods for some post season scouting too.
lil hunter
I think you need to quit complainin Mr. Pileski. My deer season ended in mid November, before I even killed a single deer! :bang: But I understand how you feel. I'm just hoping that by August or so I'm at my permanent duty station so I can start getting things together and get out for a few hunts next year.
