Career Move

Kim showed an ad in the paper to me about a company looking for Insurance Sales Agents. I brought my resume to them and the lady at the front desk asked if I had my Insurance License and I told her no.

Soooo.....

As I'm typing this I am on a lunch break at WITC in Ashland for 1 of 3 classes needed to get your Insurance License.

Diapers and formula don't pay for themselves and with how cheap these classes are I couldn't pass up the opportunity to possibly make some real money down the road. :gunsmilie:

Anybody have any experience as an Insurance Agent????

Most of my experience has been in the insurance industry but not from the agency side.

It can be a great career, especially if you go out on your own.

I have decided that as soon as I possibly can, I will be making my way out onto my own. Never again will I give one person the ability to take away my livelihood nor will I live with the constant stress of layoffs, mergers, and rumors of such.

Good for you. In bad times, winners go back to school, get new training, etc.

Insurance sells is very hard to get into. I considered getting into selling Aflac a few years back, but you have to be financially setup before starting out as it takes time to get the money flowing from customers. The guy at Aflac offered me a job, but urged me to have at least 6 months of income saved before starting, otherwise I wouldn't make it. I wish you the best of luck....theres money to be had for sure!
