Tominator
Anyone ever tear one apart? The owner's manual on the Encore only mentions how to take the barrel off. I've got some corrosion starting at the base of the trigger, and around the firing pin, I'd like to take it apart and clean it up before it gets too bad, but I don't want to get it apart and not be able to get it back together again. Wondering how easy/difficult it would be. Thanks for any advice.
Hoosierbuck
Check out Mike Bellm's website. He has a section on smoothing out your trigger-maybe even a pdf file on it, and I recall that there may have been pretty good directions/pics/schematics there. Look for Encore Trigger Job Instructions.. I replaced my spring with one from there, and it is sweet. The directions are pretty easy. Lots of pics to show you the ins and outs. Ohiobucks
HB is right on. Once again, Chris proves that the RT.com forums has replaced Google on his computer....... Click "Encore trigger job instructions" link near top middle of page. http://bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=

I would like to take this moment to point out that some forum members can help out without slamming Tominator. Tom, please take note and thanks to hoosier and Orion for the help. Tominator
I guess sometimes the truth hurts. :shifty: Truth? You continue to have a confused sense of perception when it comes to truth. You tend to bend truth in your mind, thus preceiving it's true. I asked if anyone had done it before. Plain and simple. You're just angry (again) because I've got the day off and I'm home cleaning my Encore, and you're at work. Anyway, thanks for the link. I read through it, and it looks like I can get to the corroded part with the first step, so hopefully I won't have to tear it down too much. Thanks guys, you too Tom. ----->

ruttinbuc
Yes. Tominator has. OK where do I start? Do you have a blueprint? Did you tape the procedure? How did you deal with the screws that look like rivets?
KirkV
Chris I tore down my prohunter muzzle loader when I got back from Alaska as the primer extractor was staring to rust and I wanted to clean it back up. It was not bad at all to take apart and put back together. Kirk
