Done, over with, on to...waiting...

Well my 20 minute drive turned into 40 minutes of driving to get to the hospital for my interview. Most of our snow came down last night so it wasn't snowing hard today, they just hadn't even plowed at 10am! What we get for living in the middle of farm land...

Anyway some others interviewing so ran late so my 11am interview became more like 11:20...asted about a 1/2 hour...Got asked stuff like tell us baout yourself and the camp job to what would you do if another RN or co-worker was not doing their job properly, (I said well we can't all be friends and the patient and patient health comes first so I'd talk to them and/or let the DON or charge nurse know what's going on), umm how would my references describe me (hard because I'm not one to "brag" about myself)...those are what I can remember for now, lol.

Hope I told them what they wanted to hear. Either way, it's done, said what came to mind, it's in God's hands now. Told me they'll get back to the candidates in about a week or so, they have to contact references and what not.

They asked what the earliest would be that I could start, I said March 1. So this weather had better get nice, got to get some shed hunting and steelhead fishing in!

My answer to the question of when I could start, during all my interviews, was "Yesterday". Even when I got the job across the country I told them the next day, they then asked seriously and I said 14 days max. I started 12 days after the interview. Talk about fast, but it showed them I was eager and ready to work.

I wish you the best!!! Fingers are crossed.

Well it's done with and over...I made my own decision. I have not had many interviews in my lifetime so it's all still practice. Either way I'm trusting the Lord...if it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

One post telling me I should have said sooner is enough. If that's all the rest of ya got to say, then keep it.

yep. right now is my answer. i'll work in blue jeans until my uniform comes in.

good luck, ruth.

Yep, granted your current employer will not be left in the lurch that would be the best answer. Most places require notice though, so a week before they tell you and whatever notice they require, an employer will appreciate you being honest with them on that and you potentially leaving another employer without notice might not come across so well.

Take that with you to future interviews, learn from experience. Don't think anyone is cutting you down Ruth, just offering their opinion/helpful advice.
