yotewannabe
Can I dry fire my .22 with used brass without it messing up the firing pin? Probably a stupid question just wondering if it could be an alternative to snap caps
Shaun_300
I don't see it being a problem really, sure is a lot better than dry firing with nothing in the chamber.
PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
I would say that using an empty case or a snap cap is a necessity when dry firing a rimfire. If nothing is used to stop the firing pin it will eventually peen the edge of the chamber possibly to the point where a live round will not fit into the chamber. 92xj
I have dry fired my old 1022 many of times and never had an issue. I could see how it could cause an issue, but personally have never had one.
BBR12
I would say use an empty case to be safe. My question would be why would you dry fire a rifle that much. I occasionaly may dry fire mine but its deffinetly not a good habit to have.
