First of all, you have to make the pics from your camera smaller.

STEP #1 - RESIZING

Go to your picture folder on your PC where the picture is stored.

Right click on the picture

(left click)Open with "Paint"

left Click on "Image"

left Click on "stretch/skew"

When the box comes up, change your height and width from 100% to about 10 to 15% for signatures and about 40 or 50% for most pictures left click on "OK".

Now, if you want to keep one picture of the original size for future developing and one of the downsized for the web, click on "FILE", then click "Save as"... re-name your picture and choose save as .jpg

When you name your picture, don't leave any spaces. example: - MoosePic2005 or moose_pic_2005

...................

If your picture is already an appropriate size (not too large), then you just need to change the format from .bmp to .jpg by opening the picture on your PC and click "Save as"... re-name your picture and choose save as .jpg

My pictures are downsized, but I need to upload them to the internet

In order to post pictures in the forums or into your signature, you must first take them from where you have them stored on your computer and put them on the Internet in your own web site. There are many places that offer this service for free, but you are limited to 3 or 4 web pages sometimes.

Example: Realtree's "Picture Post" or Photobucket is a good storage site for pictures

http://photobucket.com

STEP #(A) - When you get into Realtree's "Picture Post, you will notice a box called "upload Photos" in the tool-bar there. Click on it ....then click on browse....find your folder on your puter where you have your pictures stored, and then the particular pic you want to upload to the Picture Post site....

Once you have found the pic you want, click on it, and then scroll down and click on click on "upload/submit."

If you have more pics to upload, repeat step #(1)

STEP #(B)

When you have all the pictures you want, fill out all the boxes, that you will see beside each pic.

Choose Category - (very important to put it in the right category, otherwise a mod may move it and it will show up as an red X in the forums until you have figured out where it got moved too...LOL)

Title -(whatever)

Description - (can be same as title if you like)

Keywords - (also can be same as title if you like)

Once you have filled out all the blanks beside each pic and picked a category for each, go to the bottom of that page and click on "PROCESS"

STEP #©

CLICK ON "MY GALLERY"

You will see your pictures there.

Click on the pic you want to put in the forums to bring it up full size.

Now "right click on full-size pic" and then "left click on properties"

Now "right click on the address that is in the Address line" and then "left click on Select All"

Now hold your cursor over the blue highlighted address and Right click, then select Copy

close by pressing OK

Now come back in here to your post like you were going to type one and where-ever you want the pic to be in your post, start a new line by pressing Enter

Left click on "Image" down below where your typing your post there.

Then right click on highlighted blue "http//" and left click on paste

If you have a few pictures you would like to put into one post, it's a good idea to use "NOTEPAD" on your computer to copy and paste each Picture URL, so you have them all right handy when you go to the forums to make your post.

Type in [image] before the URL, and [/image] after the URL of each picture (without leaving any spaces between the URL and the [image] or [/image]).

[image] and [/image] are important for making your picture show up as a picture, instead of just an Internet address.

[color:red] You might want to open a free account at photobucket.com and upload it there instead, just so you don't have that "hosted by realtree" thing in the bottom of your pic. [/color]
