woolybear
Bought a pair of Burlys back in October from Cabelas. Recently they began leaking at the top front of the ankle. First the right then the left. Crossing a creek today noticed they had both cracked wide open about 1/2" long on both boots took on a lot of water. Really not sure what would have caused this in a 4 month period other than normal wear and tear under every day use. This is my 2'nd pair that's cracked in the same spot out of the 2 I've owned. Maybe I walk funny. Has anyone else had a similar problem with them or any experience dealing with LaCrosses customer service. Not sure I have the receipt any more, would think Cabelas may have a record of it?
Jeramie
Actually I havent heard of that?! I have a pair of AB's that ive had for about 4-years. They are still as good as new. I wear them quite a bit too. They also hang outside during hunting season. Id call them and see what they say....
mike13candace
I returned a pair one week after noticing a small tear on the side 4" from the bottom. Cabelas exchanged them with a receipt (no box). I used the replacements all season with no problems.
Tecumseh
I have a pair of the uninsulated AB'S for 4 years now and have had no trouble with them,I wear them all the time till it gets to cold for them.
Rhino
Never had a problem with LaCrosse boots either. I've got some 1200 AB's that are about 5 years old, some 800's that are about 12 years old, and my newest uninsulated boots are about 6 years old. My boots get a lot of wear too. My old 700's are about 16 years old and I wore a hole on the top side in front of my ankle a couple of years ago. Fixed it myself and I still use them when the weather is too cool for my uninsulated boots but too warm for my heavier insulated boots. wtnhunt
Contact cabelas, betting they make it right one way or another, if not get in touch with la crosse. I have not personally had any la crosse boots, but the pair my wife has held up quite well for several years. Don't think they ever had any leak issues until after my oldest daughter walked through water over her ankles in Alaska with them on, they have leaked since. maytom
The only problem I ever had with my LaCrosse boots was sticks poking a hole in the boot. Also, never roll them down, because they will eventually crack where the fold is. So always leave your LaCrose boots fully erect. I'd send them back and ask for a new pair. Yeah Paul, my father has had the same pair for 6 years and never had a problem. He stands rolled newspaper in them for support when he's not using them so they don't flop over and crack. I've yet to look for my receipt. I'm sure it's here somewhere.
Turkeygirl
Yrah, I'd call Cabela's....then Lacrosse! I have had 2 pairs of Lacrosse Burly's...the one pair went 2 years before I had to replace them - got and I'm going on my 2nd or 3rd year with my other pair. No problems like that.... ruttinbuc
I never had a problem with LaCrosse boots, but I did have a dry rot issue with a pair of Rocky rubber boots one time. It was apparent as soon as they hit the water. They opened right up. Bought them local and the guy replaced them much to his dismay. He did say they were on the shelf awhile. BBR12
I've never heard of that. I've had a couple pair and both lasted several yrs with lots of walking.
Adjam5
Never had an issue with my Alpha Burly lites Matt. Matter of fact I need to get a new pair because my 13 year old son requisitioned them from me. They are about 4 years old. I am sure Cabelas or LaCrosse will make it right. I never had issues with my LaCrosse boots, but the Rockys are a whole different story. I consider them disposable boots.
bbgatech
My Lacrosse boots are starting to crack and leak as well, but I've had them for about 3 years now. The crack is behind the ankle and up front as woolybear describes his doing. I've been looking at Muck boots, but I guess its a toss up on both brands.
