Turkeygirl
Yes, very very sad....saw it on the TV and opening ceremonies...Being so young, they said, he did not have much experience on luge tracks either...Still though there should have been a barrier there....May have been totally preventable... Dakota
It was, indeed, moving when they showed the Georgia athletes enter the building and the crowd gave them a standing ovation. Prayers on the way for his family, friends and fellow athletes. Dakota
PotashRLS
The video is not for the faint of heart that is for sure. The human body was not made to fly...............and then land/stop so abruptly . My very first impression when I saw the video was that the structural columns that he hit posted a huge threat on that corner. Poor layout, foresight and engineering in my opinion. God Bless him and his family.
Ashley
That's very sad news. It's a dangerous sport and this was definitely NOT the way to start off the winter Olympics
Shaun_300
Yeah I saw the video yesterday, stood the hair up on the back of my neck. The poor kid, a year younger than me.

stevebeilgard
very sad indeed. poor kid. they changed the rules today, so the course is very much slower. pretty stupid if you ask me. it's like telling nascar drivers they can only have a 4 cylinder engine and can't drive over 55.
