Diamond Archer 01
Nope, I don't think it matters. My dad does it cock vane up tho.

GWSmith
With my QAD rest I just make sure the nock is on the string...LOL Seriously if it's setup correctly it dont matter which way the vanes/feathers are.

Ditto, and very easy to setup/tune too.
mathews4life
I've been having trouble with my turbohawk! I can't seem to get it shooting correctly! I missed 4 deer with it this year and out of the 6 years I had my mathews I only missed a couple! By no means am I a professional but I've never missed this much andshotthis bad even with my other bows besides my mathews!! I dunno what's going on! It seems as if everytime I take it out the case it shoots diff! I've been shooting cock feather down and I can see where my pink fletchings are rubbing on the black on the QAD rest(on the base of prongs)! Just been very frustrated
PaBowhunter00
I shoot cock vane up, I've tried to switch (with blazers and duravanes) and the fletchings hit the rest. So I believe up is the way to go, if your still having an issue, make sure everything is tight on the rest and make sure it's tuned correctly. RangerClay
I've been shooting cock feather down and I can see where my pink fletchings are rubbing on the black on the QAD rest(on the base of prongs)! Time to start shooting cock vane up. I was told to switch when I had my QAD rest installed.
stcif
It isn't supposed to matter, but when I first installed it and shot cock feather down, there was fletching contact. I just switched it to cock feather up and watched my indoor archery scores go up from 380's and 390's to well over 400. This rest made a hug difference in my scores. camoman1
I shoot cock feather up. It may not 'suppose' to matter, but it obviously is making contact with it if you can see the marks on it. With as fast as the new bows are, its possible that the rest isnt completely out of the way of the vanes when the arrow goes past it....??? Just been very frustrated Why'd ya shoot at a deer if your bow was shooting different everytime ya shot it? Obviously somethings a miss and needs checked. I'd have your pro shop tune it correctly. My TH shoots flawlessly with a QAD that I setup myself without tuning instruments.
Diamond Archer 01
My turbohawk shoots good with a QAD on it. I would have your local pro shop take a look at it.

djhollis
if i was you i would take it your local hoyt dealer and have them check the timing if the timing is out it will make you shoot all over the place and wont keep a group

The_Kat
Understandable I guess....I just wouldn't shoot at an animal knowing my means of harvesting it was not accurate.
Gator
I am betting the rest is not falling fast enough, and that's what is causing your contact. I am wondering if the rest itself is timed right, it should come ALL the way up the last 1" or so of draw
The_Kat
QADs have a time line on them. When at full draw the lines should be lined up. If they aren't you are too fast or too slow.
djhollis
i just had the same problem with my new rest i took it back to the archery shop that i boutght ny bow and rest off of and he said that it was not dropping fast enough it was leaving marks in my fletchings that might be your problem to
