trappers?

Recommended Posts

I just started this past November. Caught one mink and one muskrat and had something pull my trap (I know it wasn't stolen, but I think it was a coon). I started late and within two weeks the ice had formed on my trapline. I butchered both skinning jobs...but I'm learning and am now addicted to trapping! :D

Dakota :)

i know what you mean about it being addictive Dakota, i started a few years ago and trapping was all i wanted to do.

But i guess since i started this one i should probably share my info. i have been trapping for about 4 years now. I didnt trap near as much this year as i did the last few years. mainly the reason being that last year i had 18 traps stolen. i know a few were probably my fault but still.....And for what i trap and wat i have caught; i trap mink, muskrat, beaver, coyote, coon, and fox. this year i have only caught 7 coon and 2 squirrels. not a very good year compared to the rest but we all have em.

Goin on 46 years trapping now. I'm a proffessional Nuisance Wildlife Control Specialist licensed by the state of Illinois. That's what I do for a living. I trap coons, possums, skunks, muskrats, beavers, squirrels, woodchucks, fox, coyotes, bats and a few others. Even had a couple calls for ex-wives...LOL just kiddin...Numbers, honestly, I get tired of counting.
