You need the entire kit for best performance. The kit has a new firing pin that will give better ignition and removal of the used primer. It's a good idea to replace the spring also. Since the powder is so corrosive, the inside of the bolt is a perfect environment for rust. I replace the spring in mine every few years. The firing pin can be a beast to get out.

I dunno. I don't (won't) use 209 primers in my Rem 700 ML. Musket caps work so much better. But, thats just me. I prefer accuracy.
