joeaveragehunter
I watched a special on the dog show last night on cnbc. Now its on USA. Anyone ever get into this? I don't quite understand what they are judging on each dog, but hopefully by tonight I will pick up enough to make a few good calls.
muggs
Each breed has standard features, like what the ideal dog of each breed should look like. How their ears fall, how their tall looks, etc... So, they're looking for good examples of each breed.

Like Muggsy said, they are judged against the breed standards for that particular breed.
joeaveragehunter
I think they should look into a mutt category, just to mix things up a little.
c_lou
I think they should look into a mutt category, just to mix things up a little. Did anybody see last night as the Doberman was running past somebody was on the edge of the ring with a sign that said "Mutts Rule". It was really fast. joeaveragehunter
I didn't see that, but that is hilarious. I didn't like many of the finalists, not that I know what I am looking at. I thought the black italian ro something spaniel with the long hair black hair looking like curtains was a damn fine dog. Still loved the buhund the best.
