Turkeygirl
and think "whoa...I've changed...things have changed..."?? I was over at the college tonight, where I got my B.S. in Outdoor Ed. I hung out with a good friend, who graduates this year, and one of the trainers, who was also one of my athletic training minor profs. at a women's basketball game. I thought "Wow, I can talk to the trainers like I've known them forever." Back when I was student though, they were like my idols, lol, I had and still have alot of respect for them and I was a bit shyer back then.... so I felt uptight at times, never talked to them like I do now. It's something I never thought about before until tonight, I guess it was like good old times....kind of sad though as well remembering the old times...wish I could go back, lol How things change as the years go by... Shaun_300
Yeah I do sometimes Ruth, but all in all I'm pretty pleased with my life so far, especially my education. Entering college at 17 years old and sticking with it til the end and getting my automotive technician licence at the age on 21 is a pretty big thing to me and I'm very proud of that, and making the salary I am now at 23 years old. There's a lot of 45 year olds that I know that don't make half of what I do and they've been working all their lives. I don't look down on them at all for that, just something to think about. Dakota
I know what you mean, Ruth; I found a picture of a doe that I had doubled on with a college buddy of mine back in 2008 and I found myself thinking how odd it is to say "a college buddy and I went deer hunting". Sounds stupid I know...but I don't "feel" old and yet I'm about to turn 20 this year...which still means I'm a young pup to most of y'all... I guess I'm still in the mind-set that 2006 was just last year...lol Dakota Edited February 17, 2010 by Dakota
The_Kat
At least you remember college....It seems like I just graduated HS, let alone college. Wasn't Jennifer just pregnant???? Oh wait we have an 8 month old Cash now who seems like he can't be more than a month old. I've been inspecting for 2.5 years now??? Seems like just the other day I was in here griping about Directv lol. Things change and time is flying. Pretty soon we will be old like the rest of the members here
Dawg
Yea, I look back all the time but just as a reminder of who I was and why I decided to change. Thank the Lord I changed my ways at an early age or there's no telling where I would be today. I just turned 29 last week.......that doesn't even seem right. My son turned 9 yesterday and it seems like he should still be in diapers. Time flies by way to quick!!!
joeaveragehunter
I wouldn't go back if you paid me. College was the worst four years of my life. Everything that has happened has led me to who and where I am now. When I was twenty I pictured my life completely different than where I am at thirty, but each day is a battle and it certainly isn't boring. buckee
I'm always looking back. That's how I learn from my mistakes.
stevebeilgard
the older you live, the more you'll look back. you are, indeed, living the future "good old days".
ruttinbuc
I have been pretty much lately. A lot better than looking at what may be ahead it seems. I try to be an optimist, but there are a lot of gray areas filling the picture.
JimT
I look back and ahead often. What could have been and what I have ahead of me. People that have come and gone. Things I have done and have planned for the future. Things were squirmy for a while, but things have been very good for me the last few years. That will continue it seems. This year will be an exciting one. Florida vacation in April, getting married in August and off to NC for my first guided deer hunt in October. I did not go to college but do pretty well. I make more then a lot of people I know. I should be able to retire when I turn 60 with a healthy bank account. It's all good...

Tominator
Posted about this not too long ago, along the same lines, kinda. Happy (lucky?) to say I don't have too many regrets in life, so I don't dwell on mistakes. I do kind of enjoy and lament on past times, especially when it comes to my kids. Hard to believe my oldest son will probably be out on his own in just a couple years. Seems like yesterday I was walking out back with him kicking ant hills and burning leaves with a magnifying glass.... :angel2:
